Expectation-Maximization Algorithm vs K-means Clustering

Comparison of k-means and EM on artificial data. Using the variances, the EM algorithm can describe the normal distributions exactly, while k-Means splits the data into Voronoi-Cells. The Cluster center is visualized by the lighter, bigger Symbol.
